25 May 2026 : The parishioners of St. Sebastian Church Permannur warmly welcomed the newly appointed Parish Priest, Rev. Fr. Andrew Leo Dsouza, in a joyful and prayerful gathering held at the church premises. The occasion marked the beginning of a new chapter in the spiritual journey of the parish community.
The new Parish Priest was formally welcomed by Rev. Fr. Cyprian Pinto, who handed over the responsibilities of the parish. Speaking on the occasion, Rev. Fr. Cyprian Pinto thanked the parishioners for their love, cooperation, and support during his tenure and wished Rev. Fr. Andrew Leo Dsouza God’s blessings in his new mission.
Mr. Arun Dsouza, Vice President of the Parish Pastoral Council, delivered the welcome address on behalf of the parish community. He extended a heartfelt welcome to the new Parish Priest and assured him of the full support and cooperation of all parishioners in the spiritual and developmental activities of the church.
Responding to the warm reception, Rev. Fr. Andrew Leo Dsouza expressed his gratitude to Rev. Fr. Cyprian Pinto for his dedicated and selfless service to the parish. He appreciated the good work carried out for the church and assured the faithful that he would continue the mission of the parish by taking everyone together with prayer, unity, and the support of the parishioners. He called upon the faithful to work together as one family for the growth and strengthening of the church community.
The gathering was attended by the Bondel Parish Priest and Vice President of Bondel Church along with parishioners, devotees, and well-wishers. Their presence added joy and significance to the occasion and reflected the spirit of unity and fellowship among neighboring parishes.
The vote of thanks was delivered by Secretary Mrs. Jyothi Dsouza, who thanked all the dignitaries, parish leaders, volunteers, and parishioners for making the welcoming ceremony meaningful and memorable.
At the end of the gathering, soft drinks and Snacks were served to all those present. The welcoming ceremony concluded with happiness, fellowship, and prayers for the fruitful ministry of Rev. Fr. Andrew Leo Dsouza at St. Sebastian Church Permannur.
