Catechism Day Celebration – 2026
Feb 22, 2026 : The Catechism Day was celebrated with great joy and devotion in our parish, bringing together students, parents, teachers, and parishioners in a spirit of faith and gratitude. The celebration began with the Holy Eucharistic Mass, during which our Parish Priest, Rev Fr Cyprian Pinto, delivered a meaningful and inspiring sermon. His message emphasized the importance of faith formation in the lives of children and encouraged students to grow in love for God through regular catechism learning and practice.
Following the Holy Mass, a prize distribution ceremony was held to recognize and appreciate the efforts of the students. Awards were presented to those who scored the highest marks in the Sunday Catechism examinations, as well as to students who had attended catechism classes regularly throughout the academic year 2026. Special recognition was also given to students who achieved the highest scores at the diocesan level Catechism Exam, and they were honored with gifts for their outstanding performance.
A token of remembrance was presented to all the Sunday Catechism teachers in appreciation of their dedicated service, commitment, and hard work in nurturing the faith of the children. As a gesture of gratitude for their tireless efforts, it was also mentioned that on the previous Sunday 15-February-2026, our Parish Priest had organized a one-day trip to a resort for the catechism teachers, which was greatly appreciated by all.
The celebration concluded on a joyful note with the distribution of ice cream to all students, parents, and teachers, creating a warm and festive atmosphere of fellowship and happiness.
Overall, the Catechism Day celebration was a meaningful and memorable occasion that strengthened the faith community and encouraged students to continue their journey of learning and living the values of the Gospel.
