Feast of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul

St. Sebastian Church, Permannur

The Feast of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul was celebrated by St. Sebastian’s Conference, Permannur, on 27 September 2026 with devotion, fellowship and joy.

The celebrations began with a Thanksgiving Holy Mass at 7:30 a.m., celebrated by the Vicar and Spiritual Advisor of SSVP, Rev. Fr. Andrew Leo D’Souza, along with Assistant Parish Priests Fr. Melwin D’Souza and Fr. Jagadish Pinto.

The formal programme was held at 9:00 a.m. in the Upper Hall. Rev. Fr. Andrew Leo D’Souza, Mr. Arun D’Souza, Vice President of the Parish Council, Mr. Dolphy D’Souza, Coordinator of the 21 Commissions, Br. Vincent Appose, President of SSVP Permannur, and Sr. Lishal Ferrao, President of the Youth Conference, were present on the dais.

The programme began with a prayer song by the SSVP Youth, followed by the welcome address by Br Vincent Appose, President of the conference. The conference reports were presented by Sr. Gracy Molly D’Souza, Br. Maxim D’Souza and Sr. Cinita Tellis.

As part of the celebrations, gifts were presented to six adopted families, while the SSVP Youth jerseys were launched and ID cards were distributed to members. Messages were delivered by Mr. Arun D’Souza and Rev. Fr. Andrew Leo D’Souza. The programme was compered by Br. Joel D’Souza and concluded with a vote of thanks by the Youth President Sr. Lishal Ferrao.

The celebrations continued with games and a fellowship meal for the members. During the fellowship, the members of SSVP Permannur also celebrated the birthday of Rev. Fr. Andrew Leo D’Souza, expressing their warm wishes and gratitude.

The celebration was a memorable occasion of faith, service and fellowship, bringing together the members of SSVP Permannur in a spirit of unity and joy.
