Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary – Novena Begins at St. Sebastian Church, Permannur

The Novena in preparation for the Feast of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary commenced at St. Sebastian Church, Permannur, on Sunday, 30th August 2026, with the Holy Mass celebrated at 9:30 a.m.

The Holy Mass was celebrated by the Assistant Parish Priest, Rev. Fr. Melwin D’Souza, who led the faithful in prayer and reflection. Following the Holy Mass, the Novena prayers were led by the Parish Priest, Rev. Fr. Andrew Leo D’Souza, guiding the parish community in spiritual preparation for the feast of the Nativity of Mother Mary.

A special and touching part of the celebration was the participation of the children of the parish. The children brought beautiful flowers and lovingly offered them to Mother Mary during the Novena as a sign of their love, devotion, and gratitude. Their innocent and joyful participation added a special charm to the celebration and reflected the importance of nurturing faith and devotion among the younger generation.

The Novena provides the parish community with an opportunity to deepen their faith, strengthen their devotion to Mother Mary, and prepare spiritually for the celebration of her Nativity on 8th September. The faithful are encouraged to participate actively in the Holy Mass, Novena prayers, and other spiritual activities during these days of preparation.

The beginning of the Novena at St. Sebastian Church, Permannur, was a beautiful and prayerful occasion that brought the parish community together in faith and devotion.
